Meet Your Northern Colorado Moms Blog Writing Team!

Aisha Thomas


Aisha is a Colorado native, born in Pueblo and raised in Fort Collins. She is wife to a hunky stay-at-home-dad husband, and mother of three children (favorite first born, favorite middle, and favorite son). She serves as a mentor to women and is a member of the International Women’s Leadership Association. Aisha is a school principal and has shown a dedicated commitment to student success in a changing world working at both secondary and elementary levels. She volunteers in her children’s schools, and also teaches a seminar at Crossroads Church on discovering spiritual gifts. Through Crossroads, she is working to eradicate human trafficking of local youth. Aisha enjoys reading and writing, and aspires to one day love physical exercise. She earned her B.A. and M.A. from Colorado State University.

Breanna Whitlow


Breanna is wife to her best friend Kyle and a mama of two incredible boys. Raising energetic and sweet sons is one of her greatest adventures! Faith in God and her family brings her immeasurable joy. She was born in New York, grew up in Florida then moved to Colorado with her parents and siblings. Breanna works from home as a holistic health coach for women and guides them into living fully – mind, body and soul. She treasures family time, from daily life to fun adventures. Quality friends and the occasional mama’s night out make life even sweeter! She’s a health enthusiast, happy being outdoors, loves  traveling, and is currently learning how to garden. Brea also loves food -dark chocolate, avocados, salad, French fries. Balance is key! Brecklen Ables


Brecklen was born and raised right here in Northern Colorado. In college she took time time out to fulfill a lifetime dream of serving in Kenya and Tanzania. She thought about staying for good but returned to finish college in Indiana. It was there she met her husband, quickly realized there is no place like Colorado, and together they moved back to this miraculous state. She is a mother to three wonderful tiny humans–two of whom she gets to hold in her arms and one she will forever hold in her heart. Brecklen is a doula here in Northern Colorado and is the owner of LemonVine Birth Services. LemonVine’s vision: Empowering women to make informed decisions. When not doula-ing or momming, Brecklen loves reading, traveling, baking, and drinking a hot cup of tea. Follow her on Instagram!

Caiti Mondragon


Caiti lives outside of LaSalle with her husband of 15 years, Ray (the jokester) and 3 kids. Emaleigh-14 (partner in crime), Elijah-12 (huge hearted Mama’s boy), and Eydan-7 (sour patch kid who always keeps it real). Her family keeps her on her toes and have her laughing constantly! Caiti and Ray are the Youth Pastors at Mosaic Church in Greeley and are also on the worship team. In her free time, she enjoys making cakes, blogging, and spending time with her family. Chelsea Ellingson


Chelsea is a wife and mom of four who lives in Windsor. She and her family have lived in Northern Colorado for a combined ten years and have loved raising their kids here! As a family, they enjoy being involved in sports, clubs, and taking walks along the Poudre River Trail near their house with their dog, Tuff. Chelsea has spent time teaching and subbing off and on in schools while juggling a part time photography business.  She also loves staying home with her kids as much as possible. Dawn Miller


Writing became Dawn’s dream while she spent her school days in Iowa pouring over her thesaurus and dictionary.  With her husband of 24 years, Dawn has 4 amazing children.  She spent 16 years joyfully homeschooling her tribe — with sweat, tears, prayer, and a lot of coffee.  In 2013, a series of serious car accidents caused Dawn to have a traumatic brain injury (TBI) which ended her days of homeschooling. Armed with a new normal, she focused her energy on embracing the new Dawn 2.0.  When not at home, Dawn is running in the mountains, practicing yoga, or finding more goodies on Etsy.  Her Personal Blog will launch in September 2018! Emilie Casseday


Emilie is mountain girl born and raised in beautiful Colorado. With dreams of the big city, she studied communications in Fort Collins where she met her handsome hubby Andy. After 9 years of marriage, 7 moves, 4 states, they finally settled back in the fair plains for Northern Colorado. A few years later, they were blessed with a sweet baby boy. With a background in photography, graphic design, blogging, and a huge love for fashion, she has found her dream in starting Blush Boutique in Greeley. Gretchen Cleveland


Gretchen is a recent Northern Colorado transplant, having just moved from Madison, Wisconsin. She brought with her a feisty crew of 3 little ones, her partner of 13 years, and one tiny fish. Gretchen works from home as in-house counsel for a cancer diagnostics company. She and her family love to hit up the local pool, play board games, build stuff (with Legos, playdoh, you name it), read stories, and dining out! Above all, they’re enjoying everything that Northern Colorado has to offer! In her spare time, Gretchen loves reading, writing, yoga, knitting, music, and drawing.

Jaymi Anderson


Jaymi is a life coach and motivational speaker who lives with her husband of 22 years, Bryan, and their two teenage daughters. Jaymi grew up in the tiny town of Broadview, MT and graduated from Montana State University with a degree in Secondary Science Education. She taught for 7 years until she, Bryan, and their 6-week-old baby moved to Colorado in 2002. Jaymi began coaching in 2015 and now has the privilege of helping her clients get unstuck and live their best life. In her free time, she loves to hike and read great books. Jen Hitt


Jen and her husband, Matt, are originally from Colorado and met each other while living next door to each in the dorms at Colorado State University in 2004. Since then, they have lived in Ohio and Louisiana but are now back in their favorite place in the world, Fort Collins. Jen is momma to two very funny and very active kiddos, Teddy (4) and Caroline (1). Jen works part-time for CSU which is a good balance of being with her kids and having adult interaction. When she’s not at work, she and the kids are usually playing outside. They love escaping to the mountains when possible for outdoor adventures. In her limited free time, Jen loves reading, making Shutterfly scrapbooks, going to dinner with friends, watching Parks and Rec, and ALL things autumn and Christmas! 

Kara Roberts


Kara loves living in Colorado and has lived here for a combined 13 years. She has a background in marketing, advertising, copywriting, event planning, and photography. She enjoys writing about the joys and challenges of parenting, adulting, and other (sometimes dreadful) experiences. Kara has a BA in Film Studies and English from Willamette University, and an MBA from the University of Colorado. A Seattle native, she now lives in northern Colorado with her dashing husband, and her three charming yet exhausting children. Kate Johnson


Originally from Delaware, Kate now calls Greeley, CO home along with her husband and their two energetic, and adorable young boys. She loves living in Greeley because of the people, the delicious craft brews, and the ability to travel between the mountains and eastern plains. She is a CrossFit coach who loves working with people to find their strengths, gain confidence, and reach their goals. As a result of her own experience with pelvic floor issues, Kate is passionate about working with pregnant and postpartum women to help educate, empower, and support them as they navigate this chapter of life.

Kat Young


Kat is a Mama to her feisty, sweet, and sassy two year old daughter named Emma! She is also a wife to her saving grace hubby, Jere, who moved them out here to the beautiful state of Colorado, from Utah four years ago! Kat is a makeup loving, chocolate indulging, self-love advocate. She’s passionate about all things healthly living, motherhood, and encouraging women to be the best versions of themselves! She loves making an impact and believes a simple smile can change everything for someone. Kat has spent the last few years, transforming into the woman she is today. The struggles she has faced, have given her a huge sense of humility, direction, and purpose. Motherhood has changed her heart for ever and opened her eyes to the bigger picture this beautiful life has to offer.

Laura Frazier


Laura Frazier is a Colorado native, family fueled, traveling dreamer. She and her husband have 2 kids and after 10 years in Madison, WI they are thrilled to be back home! Laura has a background in Early Childhood Education and ABA therapy and when her daughter was born she stumbled upon her love for photography and now owns Laura Frazier Photography. She is passionate about motherhood, authenticity and finding meaningful connections amongst the craziness of the everyday. Laura loves spending her time with family and friends, mountains, traveling, finding the nearest Starbucks, and begging her husband for baby animals. Lauren Manzella


Lauren Manzella is a Northern Colorado transplant by way of Wyoming. She is wife to her high school sweetheart, dog mom to two busy doggos, and human mom to even busier one-year-old triplets. Having almost completely forgotten what free time is, Lauren attempts to do things she enjoys like reading, hand-lettering, creating food, and drinking her much needed coffee while her children attempt to nap. She believes in the importance of loving others and strives to build meaningful relationships with those around her!

Lauren Schroeder


Lauren isn’t a Colorado native but is pretty darn close! At age 7 she moved to Fort Collins from Arizona with her family and after graduating from CU Boulder, she returned to Fort Collins to make home (with a dual Rams/Buffs fandom – the controversy!). She works full time as a Human Resources Business Partner for a media company and teaches kickboxing at Miramont. Lauren is wife to wonderful husband Zach and Mom to two amazing ladies. Aspen, her sweet 16 year old step-daughter and Evie, her sassy 4-year-old going on teenager. They love to adventure and travel whenever possible! Lauren loves coffee, all things holiday-related, wine dates with friends, squeezing in hikes or runs when possible and being with her friends and family.

Lauren Storeby


Lauren is a Colorado native, but grew up in Southern California. Her and her family recently moved to Fort Collins to start a new journey. She has an adorable two year old son, two fur babies and is married to her amazing Marine Corp veteran husband of seven years. Together they own a local sandwich bar called Snack Attack Specialty Sandwiches & Brews, plus she works with a clean beauty company called Beautycounter. She loves talking health and fitness, and in her free time you’ll see her running, biking, paddle boarding or teaching yoga! Lauren Veazey


Lauren is the mother of two boys—a spirited toddler and a chill baby—and has been with her husband for over ten years (they connected on the super cool website MySpace). She grew up in Fort Collins and now lives in and is loving Longmont. She got her BA in English Education and MA in Rhetoric and Composition and taught for 8 years before realizing she thrived working behind the scenes in instructional design. When she’s not shopping for long enough pants for her boys or herself (they’re all very tall), she’s on a walk listening to a podcast, reading, thinking about social justice, or scrolling Netflix for an hour before finally just watching Gilmore Girls for the umpteenth time.

Mackenzie Roberts


Mackenzie was born and raised in Colorado Springs, and ventured north to Greeley for college at the UNC. It’s there that she met her husband through mutual Young Life friends. She now lives in Loveland, 5 years deep in marriage with 2 kiddos! She loves enjoying a good cup of coffee (or the entire pot), spending quality time with friends and family, and brainstorming new ministry ideas for her little city. Mackenzie has a passion for encouraging young women and helping them through the bumps and bruises of life. From that she’s been able to grow beautiful friendships and the ability to see the beauty in many situations!  She also writes for her own little corner of the world on her personal Blog where she encourages women to live their best life regardless of the day they are having (because kids are crazy and mascara doesn’t always get put on!)

Marcelle Arellano


Marcelle’s family roots in Colorado go way back, but her own journey to back Colorado started in the jungles of Brazil. She and her family moved to Fort Collins in 2017, after living in Aurora for 2 years. Marcelle and her handsome husband are blessed with 3 beautiful girls, Zoe, Eden and Shiloh, and staying at home with them keeps Marcelle from ever being bored. Her favorite things are the color pink, anything chocolate, a good book and a great sale. Obsessed with old houses and following RV renovations on Instagram, she also likes to fantasize about traveling the US in an RV with her family, but knows that for her sanity‘s sake, it should probably remain a fantasy. Marcelle loves motherhood in all its grit and glory, and loves to encourage and empower other women! She also writes over The Jungle Mama, her personal blog, sharing more about life and her favorite things.

Nikola Reinfelds


Nikola is a Kansas native that dreamed of living near either the ocean or the mountains. Her dreams were made real when she moved to Colorado by way of Long Island, NY. She prides herself as a hard worker with a diverse professional career. Her current employers are the youngest she’s ever had, but they also offer the brightest future as her daughters. After being uncomfortable in her own skin for years, she learned to love her body, leading to a passion of empowering women to be obsessed with the skin they’re in through fountain-of-youth skincare and healthful habits. Rhonda Westover


Rhonda is a Northern Colorado native and a momma to 5 wild things. With kiddos ranging from senior in high school to first year of preschool, they keep her out of trouble (mostly). Having a husband who makes her laugh every day is her secret to keeping it all “together”. In her spare time, Rhonda enjoys volunteering, reading, and falling asleep on the couch. For an escape from the household, she works very part time for UCHealth, and she really enjoys the people it has brought into her life. As a mom to kids in different seasons, Rhonda loves to see what’s next and can’t wait to share in that journey with you!

Samantha Franzen


Sam Franzen is a Greeley native who jokes, she tried to escape for college, but came back, and wound up falling in love (with the city, and her Greeley native hubby). She’s passionate about building and growing meaningful relationships and community—you can always sit with her! Sam’s a wife and mother to two little girls, and holds down the home front as the “Executive Director of Household Operations and Fun” for her family, ever since the birth of her first daughter in 2012. Recently, she has found her passion in health and wellness education on her blog, Decidedly So. She believes when it comes to living a healthier life that knowledge is power, but convenience is key! So she’s working to make the journey toward healthier living a whole lot easier for busy mama’s.

Sarah Monares


Sarah is a NoCo native. She absolutely loves to travel yet feels blessed to live in a place where she also loves coming back home. She has two kids, ages 18 and 6 and has been married to her amazing hubby for 8 years. Sarah is passionate about helping women connect with their true selves and to not get lost in the mix of chaotic life. She LOVES being a wife and mom AND knows that these can be the hardest and most challenging roles we play. She is a licensed counselor as well as a mentor and consultant. She has a podcast called “The We Podcast” as well as a local meet up and Facebook group called “We Are Women Rising”. More than anything she loves belly laughing, coffee, vulnerability, authentic connection, adventure, ice cream, horses, QT with her fam, and seeing women walk in the full power of all they were created to be. Sarah Portillo


Sarah is a Colorado native who loves her state and everything it is for her family. She has three kids that are vibrant, unique, feisty, funny, creative souls; Lily is 15, Leo is 12 and Marcelo is 8. Lily requires 24/7 care as she has a rare metabolic disorder that disabled her at a young age. When she isn’t working as a non-profit fundraiser, and caretaker for her daughter, she is reading, writing, connecting with other great humans, enjoying the outdoors, planning adventures, and helping her community. She also enjoys spending time with her pretty darn remarkable, group of friends. Sarah hosts two projects: The first is Celebrating Supermoms, bringing gift bags to Mom’s whose children are in the hospital on Mother’s Day. The other is Secret Sleigh Project, providing home Santa visits to children who are immune-compromised or home-bound.

Teri Clark


Teri L Clark is an entrepreneur for 30 years in the hair salon industry. While owning and running her business out of Voltage Salon in Fort Collins, CO, she enjoys most being the CEO of her beautiful family. She has three talented daughters, 21 years old and 17 year old identical twins. While living the life of a single working mom for the past 15 years, she has made time to enjoy volunteering with Mothers of Multiples, Habitat for Humanity, St Baldricks, charity fundraisers and local schools. She has a passion for writing and loves empowering women in all circles of life, especially behind the chair. With empty nesting on the horizon, she aspires to add writer, painter, pianist, gardener, traveler and stay at home dog mom to her resume. Tiffany Wall


Tiffany grew up in a small town in Nebraska. It was there that she fell in love with a boy in her class and chiropractic because it changed her life. They attended Nebraska Wesleyan University where she earned her B.S. in Exercise Science before moving to Kansas City to attend Cleveland Chiropractic College for her Doctorate of Chiropractic. She married her high school sweetheart in 2013 and moved to Windsor, CO in 2015. In that first year she remodeled the clinic, opened her own practice called New Beginnings Chiropractic, and had a beautiful baby girl.
