Avery Park

City Park

Edora Park
Address: 1420 E. Stuart, Fort Collins
Parking: Two lots, one off of Stuart and one off of Welch. The lot off of Welch is closer to the playground.

Fossil Creek Park

Lee Martinez Park

Centennial Park

Dwayne Webster Veteran’s Park

Mehaffey Park

Brunner Farm

Take note: Play structure is not designed for babies or toddlers. There is also a shallow stream nearby play structures that draws children. This is a wonderful park for exploring, and it is beautiful in the springtime when the trees are blooming.
Homestead Park

Take note: There is a bit of a walk from the parking lot to the playground. Look for the footprints all along the pathways as a fun exploratory activity for kids. If you have older kids and babies, it is harder to keep an eye on all kids at the same time as the play spaces are a bit separated from one another. This is a park where you need to keep a close eye on kids. The nature spaces are beautiful and very appealing, but also require caution, especially with younger children.
Island Grove Splash Park

Peak View Park

Sanborn Park

Pheasant Run Park

Take note: This park was recently updated. There is a LOT of space in between the parking area and the playground that is NOT stroller friendly. Twin Rivers Community Park

Take note: This park is best for younger children; very accessible for ages 5 and under though caution should be taken with the close access to the nearby lake. Greeley Family Funplex is right next door where there is an indoor swimming pool, and miniature golf.
Westmoor Park

Take note: This park was recently renovated, and a ton of fun! But the play structures are not friendly for children under 4. The playground is a giant rocket ship with three levels going up, all of which are solely accessible via climbing (twisty ladder, climbing wall, standard ladder) which is great for older children, but problematic for mamas with younger kids. Plenty of open space for running, soccer, or football.
Woodbriar Park

Collyer Park

Take note: Kids will often refer to this as “train park” because the of the large play structure shaped like a train; train tracks are also nearby so those kids obsessed with locomotives might be able to catch the real thing choo-choo-ing by.
Clark Centennial Park

Take note: The playground is pretty dated but features lower structures and easy stairs for toddler step-up practice; however, it’s close to Timberline PK-8 School, which has two superior playgrounds (one for big kids, one for younger kids) accessible after school hours or during the summer.
Dawson Park and Flanders Park
Address: 1757 Harvard St. (Dawson Park) 2115 North Shore Dr. (Flanders), Longmont

Stroller-friendly walks: Yes, these parks border McIntosh Lake and are connected by the trail that goes around the whole lake (~3.5 miles total) with beautiful mountain and lake views. Note that only about one-third of the trail is paved with the rest being well-maintained dirt, so a jogging stroller will fare best if you plan to complete the entire loop. Also, hats and sunscreen will be needed as there is little to no shade for much of the trail.
Water feature: Fishing at McIntosh Lake
Take note: Dawson Park is often called “Pirate Park” due to the pirate-themed playground equipment; because of their close proximity, if kids get bored at one park it’s a fairly short (and pretty) walk to the other!
Roosevelt Park

Take note: This is a large city park with lots of room to play. The playground will appeal to toddlers with some lower structures while tall slides and swings will appeal to older kids. In the winter, the pavilion becomes an ice-skating rink!
Rough and Ready Park

Clark Centennial Park

Take note: The playground is pretty dated but features lower structures and easy stairs for toddler step-up practice; however, it’s close to Timberline PK-8 School, which has two superior playgrounds (one for big kids, one for younger kids) accessible after school hours or during the summer.
Dawson Park and Flanders Park

Stroller-friendly walks: Yes, these parks border McIntosh Lake and are connected by the trail that goes around the whole lake (~3.5 miles total) with beautiful mountain and lake views. Note that only about one-third of the trail is paved with the rest being well-maintained dirt, so a jogging stroller will fare best if you plan to complete the entire loop. Also, hats and sunscreen will be needed as there is little to no shade for much of the trail.
Water feature: Fishing at McIntosh Lake
Take note: Dawson Park is often called “Pirate Park” due to the pirate-themed playground equipment; because of their close proximity, if kids get bored at one park it’s a fairly short (and pretty) walk to the other!
Roosevelt Park

Take note: This is a large city park with lots of room to play. The playground will appeal to toddlers with some lower structures while tall slides and swings will appeal to older kids. In the winter, the pavilion becomes an ice-skating rink!
Rough and Ready Park

Stroller-friendly walks: Yes, largely shaded trail next to Oligarchy Ditch (not the prettiest name, but it’s more of a creek); or head east for a trail running next to the Ute Creek Golf Course (but bring a hat and sunscreen, there’s almost no shade this way)
Water feature: Pond (no fishing or swimming)
Take note: This park is close to Alpine Elementary School, so it’s a short trail walk to two additional playgrounds (one for older kids, one that’s fenced-in for preschool/kindergarten-aged kids or toddlers with assistance).
Sandstone Ranch Park

Take note: There’s a small playground tucked away in the south part of the park if you’re looking to avoid crowds, but toddlers will enjoy the Spring Gulch Play Corral while older kids will like the Tree House Play Area in the larger Adventure Park area.
Stephen Day Park

Take note: There are two playground areas, one geared for littler kids and one geared for older kids; also, the playgrounds are a little far from the parking lot, so plan to take a stroller if you have a kiddo who isn’t up for walking a longer distance.
Thompson Park

Take note: This is a nice shady park and is close to the Central Elementary playground, which is fenced-in, has lower play structures for younger kids, and is accessible after school and during the summer.
Willow Creek Park

Take note: The playground is close to the parking lot; it is next to a barn facility available for reservation and has a nice shaded picnic area. If you bring sand toys, you’ll be the most popular folks at the playground!
