Forget Dinner and a Movie :: 5 New Ways to Spend Your Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner!

This year having Valentine’s Day on a Thursday opens some doors for celebrating the day of love a little differently. If you’re able to, try to spend an overnight at a hotel alone! But if getting away overnight isn’t in the cards, here are 5 ideas for you to have a fun and romantic date night in NoCo ::

1. Ice Skating – This is my husband’s favorite date night “shake up” idea, especially when we haven’t been out in a while! There is something so romantic and makes you feel like a teenager again.

Places to go

2. Putt-Putt Golf – This time of year, keeping indoors is a perfect way to spend an evening (or even afternoon) with your Valentine!

3. Learn Something New!

Places to go:

  • Check out the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery Science Theater. You may have to sneak out early for the afternoon show, but it does not disappoint!
  • A bit out of NoCo but check out the Planetarium at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Nothing like checking out the stars to make you feel like you’re alone together
  • Do a City of Greeley Scavenger Hunt (We haven’t tried this but it looks so fun!)

4. Do an Escape Room! This would be a fun activity for 2 or more couples. We have done this several times and have a blast with each puzzle.

Places to go:

5. Go Bowling!

Truth be told, I am the WORST at bowling (if you notice a theme throughout this – I’m really terrible at all hand-eye coordination games. Terrible, but enthusiastic!), but it is always so fun. Even when I score a game high of 90! As for places to go, you can’t go wrong with any of your local bowling alleys. We usually to go to Chippers in Greeley!

All 5 of these ideas are a perfect way to break up date night for you and your special person. My friend Marcelle posted about making Valentine’s Day special for kids and about all kinds of love. Your special person could be your spouse, your “person” or even your kiddos. Valentine’s Day is a great reason to plan a special day/night out!
